Cleveland Clinic

Linda D. Bradley, M.D. is Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and Vice Chair of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health Institute at the Cleveland Clinic.  She is Director of Hysteroscopic Education for the Residency Program at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.  She is an internationally recognized gynecologic surgeon known for her expertise in diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, saline infusion sonography,  endometrial ablation, alternatives to hysterectomy, hysteroscopic sterilization and the evaluation of abnormal uterine bleeding. Additional academic interests include:  contraception, female sexuality, and peri-menopausal and menopausal issues.  Dr. Bradley’s clinical work includes Director of the Center for Menstrual Disorders, Fibroids and Hysteroscopic Services.   She served on the Board of Governors at the Cleveland Clinic from 2006-2010. She was recently appointed to serve as Medical Chair for the 2014-2021 Cleveland Clinic Cabinet, a research driven and philanthropic campaign for the Cleveland Clinic.

 

Dr. Bradley specializes in the evaluation, diagnostic testing, and surgery for uterine fibroids and menstrual disorders. She has been very active in endoscopy for over 20 years.   Her expertise in endometrial ablation technology makes her an innovative leader in the field of hysterectomy alternatives. She recently was involved in several multi-center clinical trials involving endometrial ablation, uterine fibroid embolization compared to abdominal myomectomy, and hysteroscopic sterilization procedure.  She performed one of the first hysteroscopic sterilization procedures in this country in 2000. With over 1000 referrals for uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), she maintains an excellent collaborative practice with the interventional radiology department for a UFE Fibroid Registry database. She has published extensively and presented internationally on this topic.

 

A gynecologist at the Cleveland Clinic for over 20 years, she has performed over 15,000 office flexible hysteroscopic procedures and over 2,000 operative hysteroscopic procedures including myomectomy, polypectomy, and endometrial ablation. 

 

She has served on the Board of Trustees for the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy (1997-1999) and currently serves as an Advisor for Medscape and Medscape CME. She served on the Cleveland Clinic Board of Governors from 2006-2010. She was Chair of the OB/GYN section of the National Medical Association, 2006-2008.   Dr. Bradley served as President, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) in 2010-2011, an 8,000 member international and national organization which advances minimally invasive gynecologic surgical procedures. She is founder of Cleveland Clinic Celebrate Sisterhood.  For the past decade, Linda has been involved in multicultural community health and wellness programs.  Annually, she hosts Cleveland Clinic Celebrate Sisterhood Multicultural Health & Wellness Summit.  She has educated more than 9,000 multicultural women since its inception. In 2014, she was honored by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, receiving the Pete and Weesie Hollis Community Service award for her role in improving the health in her community.  Recently, she was honored by the YWCA (2015) as a Woman of Vision in Cleveland, Ohio.  In 2015, she received the Cleveland Clinic Volunteer of the Year Award.  She believes that people spend more time choosing a car, where to travel on vacation, and getting their hair done, than they do on planning their health. She believes in changing how we think about health, one plate and pot at a time. Every day we can choose health.  Her recent article, “ Are You Digging Your Grave With Your Fork?” provides sobering health statistics and is a wake-up call for all. Each meal is a chance to heal. In 2016 she co-authored an informative book Us! Our Life. Our Health. Our Legacy,that addresses common,day-to-day challenges women encounter and offers advice that improves longevity, quality of life, and urges women to become the best version of themselves.
